PERSONAL PREFERENCE GUIDE THE CHOICES SECOND LIFE RESIDENTS MAKE
WHEN SELECTING A MESH BODY AND MAITREYA’S “LARA” TAKES THE LEAD.
Mesh bodies have become second nature in our virtual world. The revolution of these creations have brought us the aesthetics we were searching for in Second Life. Naturally, our tendency has been to migrate from the classic system body to a more advance model that emulates – as close as possible – a real life one.
There are plenty of mesh bodies readily available to us, however, Maitreya’s Lara Mesh body takes the lead in popularity among users, and it comes as no surprise. Lara is not only aesthetically beautiful, but user friendly – something that is highly important to most users.
Second U Magazine conducted a survey on mesh body preferences to better measure where the consumer market was leaning to. While we understand this survey only covers a small percentage of Second Life residents, it would be fair to say that the trend would be most likely the same in general. Here are the results:
Slink Mesh Body comes in second popularity place, while Belleza falls in third place and finally TMP as last.

“I had Slink before, but the quality of Maitreya is hard to beat. [Besides quality] clothing by 3rd party creators seems to fit better, and it seems to be rigged very well. [On changing from system to mesh body] I changed so that I could look more realistic, wear clothing that conformed more realistically to the avatar, and texture quality.”

At an affordable price, high quality and aesthetically beautiful, Maitreya’s Lara mesh body is a choice for anyone looking to take the plunge into the mesh body world. However, remember that personal preference is key in selecting the mesh body for you. Make sure to try them all out, testing them until you find the right one for you. In the end, it is your second body!
humm… we wonder if Lara will have a male counterpart in the near future…..
